Unfortunately, most of us can see changes in our skin as one of the first signs of getting older. Our skin gets thinner and less flexible as the years go by.

How quickly this happens depends on your genes, but how well your skin ages also depends on how you live. Nighttime habits are important for keeping your skin healthy and looking good.

Your skin heals itself at night, so it's important to take care of it as well as you can. Here are some things you can do at night to take care of your mature skin:

Use a soft brush with natural bristles to remove dead skin before you wash your face.

The natural process of skin peeling slows down as you get older.

This step gets rid of the dead skin cells that have built up on your face throughout the day, leaving it smooth and soft.

First, you should scrub your face and neck.

You can do this with a soft bristle brush, which is easy to find at most drugstores.

Start at the top of your forehead and work your way down to your chin and jawline. Then, do the same thing on each side of your face (left and right).

The idea is not to scrub hard or scratch off any skin. Instead, you are just getting rid of the dull top layer of skin so that a cleanser will work better when you use it later.

Use enzymes or acids to remove dead skin as needed.

One thing that you should NOT do if you want to get the most from your mascara. She warns against wiggling and pushing the wand of your mascara into the tube. Doing so pushes air into the mascara tube, drying it out. This can cause your mascara to clump up, making it messy and unattractive.

Enzymes, like bromelain, are great for all types of skin because, unlike acids, they don't irritate or dry out the skin.

Enzyme exfoliants are gentle, but they may not work as well as acid ones. Enzyme exfoliants are the best choice for people with sensitive skin.

If you have oily skin or skin that gets acne, you might want to use a strong AHA or BHA once or twice a week, or even every night before bed. This will help you keep your skin clear.

A few things to watch out for when using enzymes and acids:

1. Don't touch the sensitive skin around and under your eyes. This is true for almost every kind of cleanser or scrub.

2. Don't do too much of the routine once you start to feel better. Even if you do it more than the recommended amount, the results won't get better.

3. Make sure to test a small area. This is not up for discussion.

4. Pay attention to the next idea in this list. If you don't clean and moisturize after exfoliating, you probably won't be happy with the results in the long run.

Use a cleansing oil that keeps your skin moist to clean your face.

Use a makeup remover that is slightly acidic and helps to hydrate the skin.

Heavy, oily cleansers and cleansers in milk form are not good for women over 50. This goes against what most people think, since "sticky" is often mistaken for "moisturizing."

Agents and mixtures that are hard for the epidermis to absorb block pores and mess up the pH mantle.

Instead, start your evening routine off right. Choose a make-up remover for older skin that:

Has Glycolic Acid to remove make-up that won't come off, but keeps the pH of healthy skin at 5.

is made with Hyaluronic Acid to make the moisture barrier stronger and to replenish it.

Has Clary Sage, Pomegranate, and Lavender, which can heal damage caused by getting older.

The goal is for your skin to be clean and soft after a hydrating treatment.

Tone With a Gentle, pH-balancing Toner.

Toners are an important part of your nighttime skincare routine because they keep the pH levels of your skin in balance, which is especially important as we get older.

This keeps your skin clear and bright and keeps it from getting damaged by harsh ingredients in other products (like cleansers or exfoliants).

After you wash your face, you should moisturize it.

If you have dry skin, stay away from products that are too greasy or smelly. Instead, use a serum that will hydrate your skin before bed. If your skin is normal to oily, stay away from dry and acidic products (i.e., those with ingredients like salicylic acid).

Apply an Eye Cream.

Eye creams not only help get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, but they also stop new ones from appearing.

Make sure you use a good eye cream that has retinol or peptides to fight signs of aging and hyaluronic acid to plump up the skin and reduce puffiness (these are often found in anti-aging serums).

You should also look for formulas that are made for dryness caused by the sun and cold weather. Dryness can make fine lines look worse.

If you have oily skin, use this at night after you wash your face but before you moisturize. If you have dry or normal skin, put it on after moisturizing (this will help lock in moisture).

PRO TIP: Use Eyebrow and Eyelash Serums.

Even though the eyebrows and eyelashes are not part of the skin, applying serum is still an important part of skin care.

The main reason for thin, sparse, and weak eyelashes and eyebrows is that as we age, our bodies make less and less of the important peptides and vitamins we need.

Eyebrow and eyelash serum is absorbed by the epidermis, the top layer of skin, and gives it the nourishment and care it needs.

Serums for your eyelashes can also help keep the skin around your eyes from getting older.

MÄYLI BROW CARE GROWTH SERUM and Mäyli Lash Enhancing Serum.

MÄYLI LASH ENHANCING SERUM is not like anything else on the market.

Because it has more oils with essential fatty acids, like avocado and olive, than any other lash treatment.

We haven't stopped there either. We've also added good compounds (bioactive nutrients) from over 20 high-quality herbs and fruits. These nutrients talk directly to your lash cells, telling them to fix damage caused by aging and shorten the time it takes for your lashes to grow.

In short, your lashes get thicker and fuller in half the time you'd expect, giving the impression that they have 10 times more volume.

Sounds like just what your fanned beauties need to get better, doesn't it?

Then MÄYLI BROW CARE GROWTH SERUM will be great for you.

It works as well as MÄYLI LASH ENHANCING SERUM  and is laser-targeted to your brow follicles, which are different from your eyelash follicles.

Plus, the product is great because it can be used as both a spoolie and a natural brow tint made from beetroot and coffee.

The nighttime routine is important for both young and old skin (if not more).

Taking care of your skin at night can help your face look younger and even stop wrinkles from forming.

Some of the best ingredients for fighting aging work best and are most active at night.

So, that's it for our routine for mature skin at night.

We hope you enjoyed learning about all the ways we take care of ourselves as we get older and that you found our tips helpful.
